Mumbai, Nov 22 (UNI) Members of the ''Friends of Tibet'' and ''Tibetan Sweater Sellers Union of Maharashtra and Gujarat'' propose to hold a day-long fast tomorrow to protest Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to India.

A press release here today said that Hu Jintao, as head of Tibetan Autonomous region in 1999, had imposed marital law in Tibet and ''ordered violent crackdown on peaceful deomonstrators, killing thousands of innocent Tibetans''.

The Tibetans strongly condemn the visit of the Chinese President Hu Jintao to India, and hope that the Government of India, while dealing with Chinese delegates, would not take any measure that may go against the historical truth and the aspirations of the six million Tibetans living in and out of Tibet, the release said.

In the last six decades, thousands of Tibetans have been killed or missing in China-ruled Tibet, while thousands have fled from Tibet to India and other countries fearing Chinese repression, the release alleged.
