The Body Shop to invest Rs 50 cr in India by 2009
New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) UK-based cosmetics manufacturer The Body Shop today launched its range of products and would set up 50 exclusive retail outlets in India at an outlay of Rs 50 crore by 2009.
The company already has shops in the national capital, Jaipur, Mumbai, and Gurgaon. It would set up three new outlets in in Kolkata and Ludhiana by the end of this year.
The company has a franchisee agreement with Planet Retail Holdings Pvt Ltd to run its outlets in the country.
''India being the progressive business potential market, we are unveiling our global products to suit the women needs,'' The Body Shop founder Dame Anita Roddick told reporters here.
The Body Shop has over 2,000 stores across 55 countries.
