'PM should tell Rajapakshe to stop Tamil killings'
Chennai, Nov 22: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should prevail upon Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapakse when he arrives in India on November 26 to immediately stop killing of Tamils in the island nation, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi said today.
Asked what should be the Prime Minister's message to Mr Rajapakse, he said India should tell him that the island's government should take steps to restore peace and prevent killing of innocent tamils, The Lankan government should explore and adopt ways and means to restore peace on the island and prevent killing of Tamils the same path. 'It (Lanka) should not try to harass or subject the Eelam Tamils to sufferings in a bid to find a solution', he added.

Mr
Karunanidhi
said
each
party
had
been
expressing
sentiments
about
Tamils
in
their
own
way.
'This
should
be
construed
as
the
feelings
of
the
entire
Tamil
community.' It
may
be
noted
that
the
PMK
and
DPI,
both
allies
of
the
DMK-led
DPA
and
the
MDMK
had
announced
agitations
to
condemn
Mr
Rajapakse's
visit.
