Asom to urge PM for resumption of ULFA talks

New Delhi, Nov 22: A twelve party delegation from Asom will reach here tomorrow and urge Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for immediate resumption of peace talks with the underground leaders of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA).

Talking to UNI, former Lok Sabha Speaker and Senior Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader P A Sangma said the delegation will be led by former Asom Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta.

He said the delegation is also scheduled to meet Home Minister Shivraj Patil on November 25 to convey the feelings of the people of the State in this issue and request him to initiate the peace dialogue without any delay.
