"Water Man" telefilm to be shot in Andaman Islands

Port Blair, Nov 21 (UNI) Movie-eye, an Indian production company based in Dubai, is all set to shoot its second bilingual telefilm ''Water Man'' in remote Indian islands of Andaman and Nicobar.

'' We wanted to shoot this movie in some foreign locations but ultimately we were convinced that Andaman would be the best location,'' said Azim Zamal, the producer of the telefilm.

''Water Man'' would be shot in Hindi and Telugu.

Zamal said presently the team of Movie-eye would shoot pilot episodes for Star and Zee TV, and after getting a final nod from the channels full episode would be shot in these islands.

''Our first project was Dracula, which was telecast by ASIANET Channel and its Telugu version could soon be seen in Gemini Channel,'' Zamal said.

Administrator of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Lt Gen (Retd) Madan Mohan Lakhera formally inaugurated the tele-film shooting yesterday.

Addressing a small gathering at Raj Niwas, Lt Gen (Retd) Lahera said, '' As far as security is concerned, Andaman and Nicobar islands are strategically very important and for this reason one needs to get permission for any activity in these islands. '' Gen Lahera assured all kind of assistance to telefilm unit and said a single window clearance facility would be given to them.

Mr Wince, the Director and the main character of the telefilm, told reporters that the 12-member team would hire local artists and workers to shoot the first sequence, to be finished within 15 days.

'' We will bring only lead artists from mainland and the rest would be hired locally, '' he said.
