FESTTA organises 'Gandhigiri' over Surat airport demand
Surat, Nov 21 (UNI) Federation of Surat Textile Traders Associations (FESTTA) organised a ''Gandhigiri'' by distributing 2,000 roses at the Ring Road textile market area, demanding the construction of Surat airport.
Apart from textile traders, diamond traders also participated in the campaign organised yesterday, FESTTA sources said.
In the campaign lead by Attar Singh of FESTTA, hundreds of traders participated wearing Gandhi caps and distributing red roses to the people.
Attar Singh said FESTTA will send 40,000 post cards to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union ministers Shankarsinh Vaghela and Praful Patel, and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, asking them to speed up the construction work of Surat airport.
