EC notice to Amarinder, other Cong MLAs on Office of Profit

Chandigarh, Nov 21 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (EC) has issued notices to Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and 36 other ruling Congress MLAs to reply by December 8 whether they held offices of profit as alleged in a petition.

A petition in this regard had been moved by Shiromani Alkali Dal legislator Capt Kanwaljit Singh demanding expulsion of the chief minister and other MLAs for allegedly holding offices of profit.

The Punjab chief minister and his ministerial colleagues and other party MLAs who were asked to explain their position on the matter are: Rana Gurmeet singh Sodhi, Malkit Singh Birmi, Dr Harbans Lal, Mrs Harbans Kaur Dullo, Rana K P Singh, Prakash Singh, Dr Raj Kumar Verka, Ms Razia Sultana, Sandhu Singh Dharamsot, Sukjinder Singh Randhawa, Sunil Jakhar, Surinder Dabur, Ashwini Sekhri, Hans Raj Josan, Rakesh Pandey, S. Gurbinder Singh Atwal, S.Joginder Singh Mann, S. Shavinder Singh Kathunangal, Mrs Aruna Chaudhary, H S Thekedar, Ram Lubhaya, Randeep Singh, O P Soni, Gurjant Kuttiwal, Komal Chand, Dr Mohinder Kumar Rinwan, Ashok Sharma, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Jasbir Singh Gill, Ravinder Singh Sandhu, Kanwaljit Singh Lalli, Ms Gurkanwal Kaur, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Prakash Singh Bhatti, Raghunath Sahai Puri, and Randeep Singh Nabha.
