Birla Sun Life-Idea unveil 'Group Term Insurance Cover' for youths

New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Two Aditya Birla Group companies Birla Sun Life Insurance (BSLI) and Idea Cellular Ltd today jointly launched 'Group Term Insurance Cover', enabling the younger generation to develop the life insurance business.

Under this alliance, pre and post paid subscribers between 18-35 years of age get free life insurance by downloading a dialer tone from an exclusive bouquet.

''This alliance will attract the younger generation to life insurance through a combination of fun and usefulness,'' Birla Sun Life Insurance Director-cum-In-charge S K Mitra said.

Mr Mitra said this strategic alliance will assist BSLI in developing the life insurance business for the younger age group, as the age profile of telecom business customer is young.

Under the IDEA-BSLI offer, subscribers will be allowed only one policy claim. A policy claim for natural death is covered after six months, while policy claim for accidental death is covered from day one but the policy does not covers suicide, a statement said.

With the download, and after providing certain basic details over SMS, customers will receive a free life insurance cover for a period of one year.
