Unable to bear husband's torture, woman resorts to agitation

Puducherry, Nov 20 (UNI) A young woman today caused a flutter when she along with her four-year-old son resorted to a road block in front of the Court complex here to press her demands.

When pleas from the Court's security guards failed, police was summoned to the spot.

Later, the police, who held talks with her, took her to All Women Police Station.

Police said the woman Malar Vani, a commerce graduate, had love marriage with one Gopi, who began to torture her after a couple of years of their marriage.

Unable to bear the physical torture any more, she resorted to the agitation demanding action against her husband.

She alleged that the Muthialpet police refused to register a case even though she had complained several times.

All Women Police station had registered a case under Section 498 (a) IPC and are on search for Gopi, police added.
