RCGC book a berth to Malaysia in McDowell's Signature Club Golf

Kolkata, Nov 20 (UNI) Hosts Royal Calcutta Golf Club became the last and fourth finalists to book a ticket to Malaysia for the all India finals of the fifth McDowell's Signature Club Golf Championship 2006 to be held on December 2.

In the Eastern Region final held at the historic Royal Calcutta Golf Club, the hosts represented by Akshay Butta, Sudeep Chitlangia, Somesh Goyal, Ajay Rathod, Pratik Sen and Biresh Paul tallied 127 points to emerge winners from a total field of nine golf clubs.

Beldih Club from Jamshedpur edged out Shillong Golf Club by a solitary point to finish runners-up. The visiting team, which aggregated 111 stableford points Pawan Marwah, Ravi Rungta, Col R Shaikh, Varun Dotiwala, R Rawat and Lt Col BS Bakshi.

The other teams in fray were Fort William Golf Club, Tollygunge Golf Club (both Kolkata), Bhubaneshwar Golf Club, Digboi Club, Golmuri Golf Club and Guwahati Golf Club.
