Father of slain businessman demands CBI probe
Allahabad, Nov 20: The father of Neeraj Agrawal, a businessman who was killed on November 15 by his abductors in the jungles of Chitrakoot, has demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.
Mr Rajkumar Agrawal, in his letters to UP Governor T V Rajeswar and Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, has alleged the involvement of some police officials in this case.
The STF and Allahabad police had jointly arrested three people allegedly involved in the crime.
Meanwhile, the leaders of various political parties, including senior BJP leader Dr Murali Manohar Joshi, BJP state president Kesari Nath Tripathi and senior Congress leader Pramod Tiwari, have condemned the murder of the businessman.
Neeraj Agrawal was abducted on November 11 near Ghoorpur when he was returning from his hot mix plant and was later killed.
His body was brought here last night and cremated on the banks of the Ganga river.
