Congressmen burnt effigy of cine star Abhishek Bachchan

Allahabad, Nov 20 (UNI) The Congress Party workers today burnt the effigy of cine star Abhishek Bachchan in protest against giving him prestigious Yash Bharati award by Uttar Pradesh government.

The workers assembled in Civil Lines area shouting slogans against Abhishek Bachchan, torn his film posters and burnt his effigy.

The allegation of the party workers was that why junior Bachchan was given the award when he is not even a resident of the state.

It was nothing but blatant violation of its own guidelines by the state government, they added.

They further alleged that U P Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was doing all this for vote-bark politics.
