6 die, 20 injured in road accidents in Uttaranchal

Dehra Dun, 20 Nov (UNI) Atleast six people died and 20 others were injured in two separate road accidents in the last 24 hrs in Uttaranchal.

According to the Emergency Monitoring Centre sources, a bus heading towards Ramnagar from Saraikhet fell in a deep gorge at Jallikhan, near tehsil Salt of Almorah district killing three people on the spot and injuring 18 others at around 0800 hrs this morning.

All the injured have been admitted in the Deval Primary Health Centre.

In another incident, three people died and two others were severely injured when an Alto car lost control and collided head on with a tree while heading towards Bajpur from Kaladungi late last evening.

The injured have been admitted in the Haldwani Base Hospital where their condition is reported to be critical, the Emergency Monitoring Centre sources said.

Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari has expressed his condolence to the families of the deceased and has ordered probe into the accidents. He has also instructed the local administration to provide financial assistance and better health services to the injured.
