Recovered male child handed over to Orphanage Centre
Chennai, Nov 19 (UNI) After some high drama, a 15-day-old abandoned baby boy was recovered in a train by a passenger, who later handed him over to an orphanage centre in suburban Athambakkam here.
Police said, the passenger Krishnakanth, (27) working in South Central Railway at Vishakapatnam yesterday found the child abandoned in a second class compartment of the train, in which he was travelling with his family members to Chennai from Tirupati.
Mr Krishnakanth, who took the child to his brother-in-law Abishek's house at suburban Thillai Ganga Nagar for adoption, as Mr Abishek has no issues. However, Mr Abishek refused to adopt the child, stating that it would lead to some trouble.
They later took the child to a Church nearby, but the Church authorities also refused to take care of the child and informed the matter to the police.
Police then took possession of the child and handed it over to a private orphanage Centre.
Later, police let them off with severe warning, police added.
