Power-deficit UP to set up 13 Renewable Energy Parks
Lucknow, Nov 19 (UNI) Power-deficit Uttar Pradesh is setting up 13 Renewable Energy Parks (REP) under Non-conventional Energy (NcE) at district level institutions/organisations in select places.
The central idea of these Parks is to encourage people adopt NcE sources in their lifestyle for healthier living and saving power, NEDA Director Sanjay Bhoosreddy told UNI here today.
The REPs will demonstrate NcE gadgets and equipment such as solar cookers and solar panels to the people and entrepreneurs.
The 13 Parks will be set up by Non-conventional Energy Development Agency (NEDA) at a cost of over Rs 63.80 lakh with the ministry of NcE sources providing in excess of Rs 41 lakh as its share.
''Of the total cost of the project, the ministry will provide a central financial assistance of Rs 41.30 lakh to the agency,'' Mr Bhoosreddy informed adding that the first installment of about Rs 20.60 lakh has already been released.
He said the 13 REP of NEDA would be set up in different districts all over the state. The majority of them are being established in western UP.
The Parks are coming up at Hanumant Dham Prabandhak Samiti (Saharanpur), Mankameshwar Dham (Mathura), Srikashi Jivdya Vistarini Goshal&Pashushala (Varanasi), Kalakankar Raja Dinesh Singh Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Pratapgarh), Moradabad Institute of Technology (Moradabad), Kamla Nehru Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Sultanpur), Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Krishi Engineering College (Etawah), Shri Hanumant Dham (Shahjahanpur), Nehru Urja Park (Pilibhit), Nehru Park (Ghaziabad), Sheetalkund Inter College (Agra), Shri Shyama Prasad Mukherji Park (Ghaziabad) and Janpad Collectorate (Mau).
Meanwhile, the state government has directed project officers of concerned districts to submit the layout of the respective proposed sites immediately.
