"I will protect the interests of Dalits and minorities":Siddaramaiah

Mysore, Nov 19 (UNI) Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader S Siddaramaiah today said that he will not comprise at any cost in protecting interests of Daliths and Minorities who have been deprived of their rights.

Speaking after inaugurating a one-day Dalits and Progressive Organisations Conference here, he said that he could have continued as Deputy Chief Minister if he had not joined hands and participated in the 'Ahinda' movement launched to fight for justice to the people belonging to Backwardclass in the State. ''I quit Janata Dal (Secular) party to protect the interests of people belonging to Backwardclass'', he added.

Former Union Minister V Sreenivasa Prasad, speaking on the occasion, said that Daliths have been more reformed and know who would be the real person who could help them.
