Himachal remembers Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary

Shimla, Nov 19 (UNI) The people of Himachal Pradesh joined the nation in paying tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 90th birth anniversary today.

State Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and several of his cabinet colleagues, including Power Minister Vidya Stokes and Excise and Taxation Minister Rangila Ram Rao, offered floral tributes at her statue on the historic The Ridge here.

Local MLA Harbhajan Singh Bhajji, Shimla Municipal Corporation Mayor Sohan Lal, State NSUI President Kewal Singh Pathania and other prominent citizens of the town, school children and people from all walks of life also paid their floral tributes to the departed leader.

Mr Singh also administered the pledge of national integration to the people present on the occasion.
