Everest School, Ludhiana lifts first National School League title

Bangalore, Nov 19 (UNI) Everest Public School, Ludhiana defeated Delhi Public School 73-64 to lift the first National School League Basketbal Championship title here today.

In the keenly contested battle, the winners were leading by 37-33 at half time. Dhilwar Singh (32), Yejvender Singh (19) and Sukhber Singh (10) displayed their best skill for winners, while Sharan Kumar (19), S Shivkumar (18) and H Khan(13) played well for Delhi Public School.

The Winners became richer by Rs 61,000, while the runners up pocketed Rs 31,000.

In the match played for third place, St Emphrem School, Kottayam defeated Mallya Aditi International School, Bangalore 75-52 after trailing 27-28 at half time with Amal James (30), S Mathew (16) displaying their best skill in finishing. For hosts Preetam (18) played well.

St Emphrem School was awarded Rs 21,000.

Dhilwar Singh of Everest Public School, Ludhiana was declared Best Player of the Championship.
