CM launches phase 3 of land distribution scheme

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today launched the third phase of land distribution programme near Nallamada village in this district today.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Reddy said 1,11,380 acres of land would be distributed to the poor in the third phase. The land would be registered in the name of a woman in the beneficiary family.

The government would take stringent action on the officials in case of any irregularities in the scheme, Dr Reddy said.

In the first phase on January 26, 2005, 1.55 lakh acre of land were distributed and in the second phase in August, 2005 another 1.70 lakh acre were doled out to the poor.
