Airport police arrests man for possessing fake passport

Chennai, Nov 19: Airport police arrested a 43-year-old man for allegedly travelling with a fake passport from London to Chennai by London-Chennai Air India flight, at the airport here today.

Police said the arrested, T Ravi Kanthan of Tiruvarur in Tamil Nadu left for London a month ago in search of employment. However, the weather there did not suit him and he wanted to return back but.

As per his contract, the employer refused to return his passport and other travel documents.

In order to come back to India immediately, the man allegedly obtained a fake passport there and travelled back to India. When he produced his passport to the Immigration authorities at the airport here, they found out that it was fake.

Later, they handed over the arrested person to the local police for further action.
