A militant among 3 killed, LeT worker arrested in J
Srinagar, Nov 19 (UNI) Militants killed two persons and wounded five others, including two CRPF personnel and abducted two persons while security forces killed one ultra, arrested another and busted two hideouts in the Jammu and Kashmir overnight.
An official spokesman said a group of militant entered the house of a 65-year-old Mohammad Sultan at Nuthnusa, Handwara, in the frontier district of Kupwara and shot him dead late last night.
The militants later entered the house of another person Manzoor Ahmad in nearby village and shot him dead.
A massive hunt has been launched to nab the militants responsible for these killings.
Militants hurled a hand grenade towards a CRPF roadside bunker at Kawdara in the down town city. However, it missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside causing injuries to two CRPF personnel and three others. The injured were hospitalised.
Border Security Force (BSF) today recovered a live grenade near a local graveyard at Bandipora in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
The grenade was later defused by the bomb disposal squad.
The spokesman said militants abducted a retired BSF jawan Ghulam Mohiuddin Dar and his son Mohammad Yousuf alias Sahiba, a student of Kashmir university, at Amlar Pulwama this morning. However, Dar was released while his son was still in their captivity.
He said security forces gunned down a militant in an encounter at Dagarthi in Jammu district last night. One AK rifle, five magazines, two hand grenades and one wireless set were recovered from the slain militant.
Security forces arrested an upper ground worker of Pakistan based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) during a search operation at Doda.
He said security forces and police busted two hideouts at Shopian and Katri Dhar and recovered one 303 rifle, seven RPG rounds, five hand grenades, two wireless sets, and large quantity of rice, basmati, atta, mustard oil, ghee,sugar, dry fruit and 20 blankets.
However, no one was arrested.
