Volleyball Federation announces 12 member squad for Asian Games

Chennai, Nov 18 (UNI) K J Kapil Dev will lead the Indian team in the volleyball competition in the Asian Games at Doha in Qatar, to be held from December 1 to 15.

The Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) Secretary General K Murugan, announced the 12 member squad for the Games.

The team is: K J Kapil Dev (Capt), Y Subba Rao, Mandeep Singh, Siva Rajan (Libero), M N Vikra, G Pradeep, Tom Joseph, Jitendra Singh, R Rajeev, Sanjay Kumarm, Balwinder Si and P S Srikanth.

Chief Coach: Augusto Jose Sabbatini, Assistant Coach: Chander Singh, Manager: A Ramana Rao, Trainer: Karumullah, International Referee: S K Khurana.

India will join the contests from Round two in Pool E along with Indonesia (Pool F).

In the preliminary round Bahrain, Lebanaon, Mongolia (Pool A), Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Macau (Pool B), Chinese Taipei, Kuwait, Maldives(Pool C), UAE, Hong Kong, Palestine, Turkmenistan (Pool D) will be competing in the first round, Mr Murugan stated in a press release.
