MP Cong to stage sit-in against anti-farmer policies of BJP
Bhopal, Nov 18 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress will stage sit-in and demonstration in district and block headquarters on November 25 against ''anti-farmer policies'' of the BJP Government.
In a statement, Congress spokesperson Brijmohan Srivastava said the demonstration will be staged at 1100 hrs. Later, a memorandum for the Governor will be submitted to the Collector and tahsildars.
For better coordination of the programme, state Congress President Subhash Yadav has appointed observers in the districts.
Dwelling on the problems being faced by peasants, Mr Yadav claimed that 14 districts were drought-affected but the government was not concerned about agriculturists.
''There is crisis of water, food and employment in these districts. Farmers were facing difficulties due to neglecting issues of fake seeds and manure and availability of only 2-3 hours of power,'' he said.
The Congress demanded providing relief to farmers affected due to natural disasters.
