Gayle beats Taylor to win Jamaican Cricketer-of-the-Year award
Kingston, Jamaica, Nov 18 (UNI) West Indies opener Chris Gayle pipped Jerome Taylor to win his third successive Jamaican Cricketer-of-the-Year award.
With the 27-year-old currently on duty in Pakistan, his father Dudley Gayle was handed over the award, along with 1,538 dollar and the KFC Trophy in the ceremony held at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston yesterday, according to a CMC report.
Gayle had a brilliant calendar year and the the left-handed batsman, who sits on top of the International Cricket Council's all-rounder rankings, scored over 800 runs.
