BCCI to organise two international tournaments for women
New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) BCCI will organise two international tournaments -- triangular Asia Cup in December and Quadrangular Series early next year -- after taking over women's cricket in the country, board secretary Niranjan Shah said today.
BCCI has also constituted a Women's Cricket Committee which will look after eves' cricketing activities including organising tournaments.
The board will conduct two tournaments annually -- a junior tournament for under-19 age group (limited over) and a senior tournament, a BCCI release quoted Mr Shah as saying.
Besides, all affiliated units of the BCCI will constitute a women's wing. The tournaments will be played on the zonal level and also at the All India level as per the existing system, the release added.
This year's international events to be organised by the BCCI: 1. Third Asia Cup from December 12-22 at Jaipur with India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka being the participating teams.
2. Quadrangular Series including India, Australia, New Zealand and England from February 12-25 in Chennai next year.
