AP Govt to pay arrears of post matric scholorships

Hyderabad, Nov 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today instructed the officials concerned to pay all the arrears of the post matric scholorships to the students belonged to the backward classes, SC and ST Communities.

Reviewing the scholorship issue with the officials at the Secretariat, Dr Reddy directed the finance department to sanction Rs 34 crore immediately to pay the arrears. The payment of all scholorships should be completed by the end of this academic year, he added.

Stating that the scholoships would be paid to the beneficiaries in time from the next academic year, the Chief Minister asked the officials to take steps to release the due amount from the Centre in this regard, an official release said here.
