Two hostages from hijacked Iraq convoy freed-police

BASRA, Iraq, Nov 17 (Reuters) Two foreign security guards among a group of five kidnapped yesterday after their truck convoy was hijacked have been freed, Iraqi police said today evening.

An Iraqi police official in Basra in southern Iraq said he could not confirm the nationalities of the two men. The hostages were four Americans and an Austrian.

The US embassy in Baghdad said it could not confirm the report.
