Trescothick will return soon, England's players' body CEO
London, Nov 17 (UNI) While admitting that Marcus Trescothick was ''at a low ebb'' right now following his stress-related pullout from the Ashes, Professional Cricketers Association expressed confidence that the opener will come back to play for England.
''If he puts in the time, I'm sure he'll be back,'' PCA chief executive Richard Bevan told Five Live.
Mr Bevan said the troubled player needed some time to sort out his psychological problems which forced him to come back from Australia earlier this week.
''He is focused on the problem he's got and wants to play again,'' Mr Bevan said.
''The great thing about Marcus' situation is that the public are in support of him, so are his employers, he's got a good medical team and if he puts in the time, I'm sure he'll be back,'' he added.
The PCA chief executive said he had talked to Trescothick and the opener was very disappointed to have left the highly-anticipated series midway.
''Marcus is obviously at a low ebb and massively disappointed. He was feeling confident but suffered an acute stress reaction and it was obvious he needed to come back,'' he said.
