Police seeks legal advice in Deendayal Trust case

Jaipur, Nov 17 (UNI) The Rajasthan police is seeking legal advice before taking any action in the case of allotment of prime land,'' at a throwaway price'' to the RSS-controlled Deendayal Upadhayaya Trust by Jaipur Development Authority (JDA).

Superintendent of Police V K Singh said they have received the copy of the court order and further action will be taken only after consulting legal experts.

''Immediate action cannot be taken in this case as the court had given direction on the petition, which was filed on the basis of published stories in the newspaper, he said, adding that permission of Vidhan Sabha is necessary to proceed against a legislator.

The court of Additional Chief Judicial magistrate II on Wednesday had ordered Gandhinagar police station SHO to register an FIR on the alleged illegal allotment of prime land at Civil Lines by the JDA to the Deendayal Upadhayaya Smriti Trust and submit its findings by Nov 11.

The court order came on a complaint filed by Ganganagar advocate Krishna Kukkad, who alleged criminal conspiracy and misuse of power by state ministers, politicians and bureaucrats, the land allotment case.

Urban Development Minister Pratap Singh Singhvi, former BJP president Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi, Jaipur Mayor Ashok Parnami, Rajasthan Housing Board chairman Ajaypal Singh and JDA commissioner have been named as the main conspirators.

The matter in dispute is the allotment of 7693.40 sq metres of prime land at the Residency Scheme near the posh Civil Lines railways crossing, which the petitioner claims is valued at Rs 50 crores but had been given to the Trust on July 4 this year at a highly subsidised rate of Rs 65.5 lakh. The allotment was made to the Trust in the guise of construction of the BJP state party headquarters in Jaipur.

The complainant said the Trust was not even registered at the time of allotment, and was later registered on August 22 this year.

Another complaint questioning the allotment is pending in the Rajasthan High Court.
