Srinagar, Nov 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Government has distributed financial assistance of Rs 1.90 crore among 147 beneficiaries of Kangan and Ganderbal blocks, an official spokesman said.
He said the District Development Commissioner(DDC) Srinagar, Sheikh Ajaz Iqbal distributed assistance among beneficiaries at an awareness camp held at Ganderbal.
The camp was organised by the Lead Bank District Manager, Srinagar for unemployed youth of Ganderbal and Kangan blocks in collaboration with Employment and Industries departments.
Earlier, DDC chaired the officers meeting at Ganderbal and reviewed the implementation of various development works in Ganderbal and Kangan areas.
He was informed that under Roads and Buildings sector in Ganderbal, the work on construction of road projects is apace at a cost of Rs 7.13 crore in which 30 Kms have been black topped and so far Rs five crore have been incurred on it.
He was informed that the work on six road projects in the area have been taken in hand with NABARD funding.
The meeting was informed that under PHE sector, work on six water supply schemes have been taken up under which Rs 50 lakh have been spent so far while one water supply scheme has been completed at a cost of Rs 36 lakh.
It was also told that work on two residential quarters has been started at Ganderbal at a cost of Rs two crore.
The DDC also visited the Babanagrey in Kangan area and inspected work on Primary Health Centre building (20 bed hospital) being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.70 crore for which Rs 42 lakh have been utilised.
He also visited the Kachan village in Ganderbal where he inspected the work on Primary Health Centre, Kachan estimated to involve an expenditure of Rs 1.70 crore of which Rs 11 lakh have been spent so far.
