Azad for establishing two mega super-specialty hospital in J
Jammu, Nov 15 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, while stressing on the need to have mega super-specialty hospitals in the state, has directed to given modalities for establishment of two art-of-the state super-specialty hospitals in both the capitals at a cost of Rs 240 crore within 18 months at a high level meeting here today.
Chairing a high level meeting here, the Chief Minister stressed for formulation of detailed project reports and completing other reconstruction formalities for both the prestigious hospitals so that work on these can be taken up expeditiously and completed in a time bound manner to benefit the people at the earliest.
He said both the hospitals, should come-up within 18 month after the work commences.
The meeting was told that Rs 200 crore from the Centre and Rs. 40 crore from the state government had been earmarked for the up gradation of the medical colleges of Srinagar and Jammu.
The Chief Minister emphasized for making best use of available land for these hospitals by formulating imaginative and futuristic projects.
He was apprised the detailed project report for Jammu super specialty hospital will be ready within 15 days and that for Srinagar super specialty hospital by next month.
Chief Minister also took stock of the progress made on construction of 200 bed pediatrics hospital in SMGC hospital complex including 30 bed pediatrics surgery wings. He also received the headway made for expanding and upgrading emergency wing in GMCH Jammu.
Others who attended the meeting included senior officers of Ministry of Health, Government of India, Chief Architect of Hospitals, Government of India, senior- level doctors of the PGI, Chandigarh, and senior officers and doctors of the state.
