Azad asks to expedite work on super-speciality hospitals in J
Jammu, Nov 15 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, at a high-level meeting today, directed the authorities to put into action modalities for the establishment of two super-speciality hospitals in both the summer and winter capitals of the state at a cost of Rs 240 crore.
Mr Azad stressed upon the formulation of detailed project reports and completing other reconstruction formalities for both the prestigious hospitals so that work on these is taken up expeditiously and completed in a time bound manner.
He said both the hospitals should come up within 18 months after the work commences on these. The meeting was told that Rs 200 crore will be provided by the Centre while Rs 40 crore will come from the state exchequer for the project.
The chief minister emphasised on making best use of the available land for these hospitals by formulating imaginative and futuristic projects.
He was apprised that the detailed project report for Jammu super-specialty hospital will be ready within 15 days while that for Srinagar by next month.
Mr Azad also took stock of the progress made on the construction of a 200-bed paediatrics hospital in SMGC hospital complex including 30-bed paediatrics surgery wings.
Senior officials from the Union Ministry of Health, chief architect of hospitals, senior doctors of the PGI, Chandigarh and senior officers and doctors of the state were present in the meeting.
