SAL to set up Rs 25 cr Heat Treat facility at Patancheru

Hyderabad, Nov 14 (UNI) Sandvik Asia Limited (SAL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the US$ eight billion Swedish Sandvik will set up a new Heat Treat facility at the company's recently acquired Kennametals manufacturing unit at Patancheru, the foundation stone for which was laid today.

SAL earnmarked Rs 25 crore investment for expansion and upgrading of this unit at Patancheru for Mining and Construction Tools (MCT).

The Heat Treat facility upgrade will include Rs 1.5 crore for the new building and Rs 4.5 crore for the new furnaces and other equipment. Sandvik Mining and Construction had plans to double production volumes at Patancheru by 2009 with substantial increase in exports for the world markets, the company release said here.
