Sachin Ratti into main draw in Indian Asian satellite badminton meet

Mumbai, Nov 14 (UNI) Sachin Ratti of India boooked his place in the main draw of the men's singles USD 10,000 Indian Asian Satellite badminton tourney being held at the Goregaon Sports Club here today.

Ratti beat the challenge of countrymate Tanvir Gill in straight sets at 21-19, 21-11 in the final qualifying round.

Joining Ratti in the main draw in the men's singles were Arup Baidya who beat K Tanishaq at 13-21, 21-6, 21-19 in a close fought encounter; Himanshu Thakkar who beat A Hazarika also in three sets at 19-21, 21-13, 21-14 and Rohit More who had an easy outing against Nigel D'Sa beating him in straight sets at 21-11, 21-15. Also making the main draw taking the final spot, was Jibi Verghese who beat Ravinder Singh.

In the women's side Neha Pandit was taken to the wire before she could overcome Anita Ohlan beating here in a tough three setter after dropping the first set winning at 12-21, 21-15, 21-19.

Also making the women's main draw were Krishna Dekaraja who beat Sonal More in straight sets at 21-14, 21-12 and Bibari Basumatary who overcame the challenge of Dhanya Nair in a three setter at 20-22, 22-20, 21-7.
