RWAs want Councillors resignation for failing them
New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) The Residents' Welfare Associations URJA, the largest federation of RWAs in Delhi, today demanded that Councillors resigning from the House in view of their inability to 'handle' the city's problems like sealings and demolitions.
''It is a farce, no doubt that the very people who created the corruption that led to the action of the SC are now feeling a pang of guilt, but we welcome it nevertheless,'' said Sanjay Kaul, President, URJA and People's Action.
Let this be a litmus test for Councillors who have a modicum of self respect left in them. They should resign 'en masse', he said.
RWAs are also livid at their inability to take a stand during the sealing and demolition drive.
''They wanted to run with the hares and hunt with the hounds,'' said SP Gupta of Old Rajendra Nagar RWA adding that, ''They did not help when MCD bulldozers broke down people's houses and when MCD teams undertook sealings. They even did not support the RWAs all through the last one year on the issue of commercialisation. They should all resign.'' UNI AN SK RAI2105
