Pollock contemplating Test retirement
Johannesburg, Nov 14 (UNI) Veteran South-African all-rounder Shaun Pollock is contemplating a Test retirement to prolong his ODI career and will decide on the matter after the upcoming two series against India and Pakistan.
''I will see how I feel about it after this summer's two Test series. I enjoy one-day cricket and hope I can still play in this form of the game for a few years more,'' Pollock was quoted by 'News24' as saying here.
''I should have a good, or better, indication of my Test future after the series against India and Pakistan. Maybe I'll consider playing for another year or two,'' he added.
Pollock, who will be looking to join Pakistani legend Wasim Akram as the only player to have scored 3,000 runs and grabbed 300 wickets in the upcoming ODI series against India, said though it would be an honour to be in Akram's company, the task was not an easy one.
''Wasim was a legend, especially in one-day cricket in which he produced such outstanding performances with bat and ball for Pakistan,'' Pollock said.
Pollock needs to make another 151 runs to reach the milestone after having already taken 354 wickets in the shorter version of the game.
