Khem Lata Wakhloo appointed chairperson of House committee

Jammu, Nov 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker, Tara Chand today nominated Mrs Khem Lata Wakhloo MLA as chairperson of the House Committee to reassess all the backdoor appointments and tender works of state government during the regimes of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

The house committee would look into all the appointments and tender works in every government department under the National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party led coalition government.

The Speaker has made the appointment in terms of Rule 286 (1) of Rules of Procedure and conduct of Business in state Legislative Assembly.

The opposition National conference, in the summer Assembly session in Jammu, had charged PHE minister Qazi Mohammad Afzal to appoint his blue eye persons in the department and demanded high- level enquiry in the both the house of state legislature.
