Floral tributes paid to Jawaharlal Nehru in Puducherry

Puducherry, Nov 14 (UNI) Floral tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on the occasion of his 117th birth anniversary here today.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his cabinet collegues, legislators, AICC general secretary B K Hariprasad and senior officals were among the people, who garlanded the statue of the architect of modern India on behalf of the territorial administration.

Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee president P Shanmugham, office-bearers of the PCC and Puducherry Munnetra Congress also garlanded the statue.

Rich tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of Nehru at the PCC office, in which Mr Rangasamy, Mr Hariprasad and Mr Shanmugham, among others participated.
