Delhi govt to provide indus plots to all displaced before 1996
New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Delhi Industry Minister Mangat Ram Singhal today said the state government is committed to providing industrial plots to all those whose units in non-conforming areas were closed in the city till 1996.
Speaking at the inauguration of 'Delhi Pavilion' at the India International Trade Fair here, he said all such persons, including those whose applications had been rejected earlier or had even withdrawn their advance deposited for industrial plots, would be considered.
Besides, the industrial estates already developed or being developed, the government was in the process of acquiring 675 hectares of land to relocate such industries. Out of this 475 hactares had already been acquired, he added.
Saying Delhi was bound to emerge as one of the biggest centers of small-scale industries in the country, Mr Singhal said the capital had large conglomerates attracting more commerce, trade and industry and as the national capital, it also had tremendous comparative advantages in terms of availability of infrastructure, communication facilities, technical and R&D institutions.
The network of facilities and linkages induced growth of industry, which by definition was dynamic and market driven, he said and assured that Delhi government was committed to provide all facilities needed for the growth of the small and medium industries.
Mr Singhal said the state government had taken the steps like relocation of industries from residential/non-conforming areas to conforming industrial areas in Bawana, Narela, Badli, Jhilmil and Bhorgarh.
