Uttaranchal govt to set up FIS over 1,000 acres of land
Dehra Dun, Nov 13 (UNI) Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari today said the state government was envisaging to establish a Forest Industries Stage (FIS) by taking 1,000 acres of barren land from the Forest Department to open industries .
Mr Tiwari said this while addressing the gathering at inaugural function of Rs 201.15 lakh budgeted Commercial Tax Department building at collectorate premises in Rudrapur.
Expressing his concerns over low revenue collection, he called on all the revenue officers to take continues round of check posts and set up district level committee to monitor the collection.
He said despite Uttaranchal having large number of tax payers, it was failing to collect tax to its proportionate.
Apprising about the government's plan to set up Forest Industries Stage, he called on the industrialists to establish industries loaded with new technology in the state.
