Uma's party accuses Rajnath of dining with "criminals"
New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janshakti Party of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti has criticised BJP President Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for attending an election victory celebration in which "criminals" were present.
BJS General Secretary Chandra Raj Singhvi alleged that the celebrations at the Kharagapur residence of Mr Surendra Pratap Sinha of Tikamgarh was attended by some people facing criminal charges in connection with an attack on Ms Bharti.
The BJP president and Mr Chouhan should not have participated in the dinner with persons accused in an attack till they were cleared by a probe, he said.
The BJS had informed the Election Commission as well as Governor Balram Jhakar of a BJP "conspiracy" to attack Ms Bharti during the the recent byelection campaign. The Governor had even telephoned state Director General of Police but that could not prevent the 'murderous attack' on Ms Bharti and her driver Babulal by the 'BJP goons', he added.
