Liverpool's travel sickness deepens with 3-0 Arsenal loss
LONDON, Nov 12 (Reuters) Arsenal climbed to third in the Premier League with an emphatic 3-0 home win over Liverpool today as Raphael Benitez's team made it five successive away league defeats.
Arsenal took the lead in the 41st minute when Cesc Fabregas squared low for French midfielder Mathieu Flamini to drag in his second league goal since he joined in July 2004.
Another rare scorer made it 2-0 ten minutes into the second half when centre back Kolo Toure tucked home his first league goal since February 2004 after neat work by Robin van Persie and William Gallas was left unmarked six minutes out to head home a corner ten minutes from time.
Arsenal move to third on 21 points, seven behind Chelsea and ten behind Manchester United, who both won yesterday.
Liverpool, with just one goal and one point from their six away league games this season, remain mired in mid-table on 17 points.
Earlier tday, Tottenham Hotspur's ten-game unbeaten run came to an end when Reading came from behind to beat them 3-1 at the Madejski Stadium.
A week after beating champions Chelsea, Spurs started well and led with a Robbie Keane penalty after 24 minutes.
But Nick Shorey and Steve Sidwell put Reading ahead before halftime and Kevin Doyle got a breakaway third 11 minutes from time to take the promoted club above the Londoners to 11th.
