Lalu's wish of becoming PM will remain a dream: Shahnawaz

Jaipur, Nov 13 (UNI) Former Union Minister and BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said here today that Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's desire of becoming the Prime Minister will always remain a dream.

After paying obesience at Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's shrine in Ajmer for his win in the Bhagalpur Lok Sabha polls, Mr Hussain told reporters here Mr Prasad should feel sorry for the Bhagalpur bypoll defeat but instead he seems to eyeing the PM's post.

He said the Muslim-Yadav tie-up failed miserably in this bypoll.

''However the new equation of Hindu-Muslim unity has evolved, which will be taken forward by spreading it across the country. The new slogan would be Hindu-Muslim (HUM) unity.'' Mr Hussain said Mr Prasad had been taking advantage of the Yadav-Muslim tie-up for the last 15 years but has actually deceived minorities.

Waiving off Mr Prasad's contribution towards Railways, he said the developments and upgradations in Railways is because of the hard work of former Railway Minister and present Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

He urged the Prime Minister to see that Mr Prasad does not destroy the Indian Railways in the same way he destroyed the state of Bihar.

Replying to a question on Congress's proposal of reservations for the Muslims, he said the Constitution does not have any provision of awarding reservation on the basis of religion. He added the Congress is only misleading the Muslims over this issue.

On the question of execution of Mohammad Afzal, Mr Hussain said the issue should not be seen in the context of religion and BJP would have adopted the same policy even if the accused would have been from any other religion.
