New Delhi, Nov 13 (UNI) General Electric Co Ltd (GE) today said it is in talks with Tatas to set up telecom manufacturing units in the country even as the US conglomerate is poised to post eight billion dollar as revenue from its existing assets in India in the next three years.

''Our target is eight billion dollars in revenue and eight billion dollars in assets by 2010. Our vision for India is to 'go big' by leveraging our diverse set of business to help India meet some of its priorities and contribute to India's economic development,'' GE India President and CEO Scott R Bayman told reporters here.

''We are setting up new manufacturing unit for the purpose such as for telecom and are in talks for power with Tata, Reliance, NTPC and others also,'' Mr Bayman said.

The company plans to invest 600 million dollar in its manufacturing units in India.

In its diversification drive, the US giant also launched its new series of laptop-size ultrasound systems -- the Vivid i, Vivid e, Volusion i, Volusion e and LOGIC e -- which is a new and revolutionary line of ultrasound products that places the power and imaging capabilities of a high performance, 400-pound system into a laptop-size design.

The five new clinically specialised ultrasound systems ranges from 30,000 dollars to 100,000 dollars in the market to consumers.
