Yasin, Karate, Mir appear before TADA court

Jammu, Nov 11 (UNI) A TADA court in Jammu today adjourned till December 2 the hearing of the cases against JKLF leaders, including its supremo Mohammed Yasin Malik, recently-freed Bitta Karate and Javid Mir.

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leaders appeared before the TADA court here in the cases, including Rubia Sayeed kidnapping case, and murder of Air Force personnel.

In December 1989, according to the CBI, the accused, including JKLF chairperson Malik, kidnapped Dr Rubiya Sayeed, daughter of fromer Chief Minister and the then Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, while she was going to the Medical College Hospital in a matador.

For the release of Rubia, the state government was compelled to release five hardcore JKLF militants.

The other case was murder of Air Force officials in Batmaloo (Srinagar) in January 1990.

Both the cases are still at the stage of framing charges, sources said.
