Tripura wants more funds for its cultural devp
Agartala, Nov 11: Tripura government has demanded to the North East Zone Cultural Cooperation (NEZCC) to allocate more funds for the state's cultural development.
Speaking at a meeting of the NEZCC at Guwahati recently, the state Information and Cultural Minister Anil Sarkar said the fund provided by NEZCC to the state during last five years was insufficient.
He further sought the NEZCC's cooperation to observe 'Mother Tongue Day' and 'Bihu Utsav' in the state, as it would strengthen brotherhood among people.
Besides Manipuri and Dhrupudi dance he urged for inclusion of Asom's Bihu dance in the state had proposed the NEZCC to organise a workshop on it in the state.
