Chennai, Nov 11: Police have arrested three foreign nationals, when they were trying to fly to London by Air France (AF 201) flight using fake passports at the Anna International airport here early today.

Police said the three were identified as Meuyar Herald (52) of Austria, Nader Kauleyini (19) of Iran and Fieholla (15) of Afghanistan.

When they produced their travel documents before the immigration authorities, officials found their passports were fake.

Preliminary enquiry revealed the three came to Delhi from Afghanistan four months ago and later reached Mumbai.

They had paid Rs 2,00,000 each to a travel agent in Mumbai for getting the bogus passports.

Airport police after registering cases against them handed them over to the Central Crime Branch Police for further investigations.

The arrest of these foreign nationals assumes significance, following the receipt of an anonymous letter at Tiruchirapalli airport warning of a bomb attack on airports in Tamil Nadu and Kerala by Al-Qaeda couple of days back.
