RCF signs jt venture with Spanish firm for Metro coaches

Kapurthala, Nov 11 (UNI) Rail Coach Factory (RCF) has entered into an agreement with a Spanish firm CAF for manufacturing Metro Coaches.

The RCF General Manager S K Suri said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has floated a global tender for supply of 400 metro coaches by a reputed foreign supplier with an Indian partner.

Out of 400 coaches, 100 coaches are to be manufactured in India by RCF. The supply of coaches is to be completed by year 2010 to cater to the requirement of Commonwealth Games.

It will open new opportunities for RCF to enter into expanding metro market in India and abroad.In the process, RCF will be able to further upgrade its manufacturing process, Mr Suri said.
