People in north Kashmir protest against death of youth by army

Baramulla, Nov 11 (UNI) People took to streets at Rafiabad in north Kashmir protesting against the death of a driver allegedly by army.

Shouting anti army and government slogans, the demonstrators alleged that troops of 32 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) killed a Sumo driver Bashir Ahmad Khan last night.

The demonstrators also blocked traffic, demanding immediate action against the RR personnel for killing the innocent driver.

However, officials said militants fired upon the vehicle in which RR personnel were travelling at Rawocha, Rafiabad.

They said driver was killed in the encounter between the militant and the securitymen.

Shops and business establishments in the area and adjoining villages remained closed in protest against the incident.
