NSCN-IM cadre killed in clash at Meluri

Kohima, Nov 11 (UNI) An NSCN-IM cadre was killed and one Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) cadre injured during a factional clash between combined forces of FGN, NSCN (K) and NSCN-IM in Meluri at Phek district.

Official sources said the NSCN-IM cadre was abducted from Meluri village by FGN and NSCN (K) forces and later killed him.

Subsequently, the NSCN-IM cadres attacked the combined forces yesterday and in the ensued firing, one FGN cadre was injured.

Fearing the loss of life and property, the villagers intervened and managed to stop the fighting.

Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM sources have claimed that two of the rival cadres were seriously injured, while the NSCN (K) sources claimed that they have killed four NSCN-IM cadres including the official and his body guard.
